Alief sets a referral window each year, when teachers, counselors, administrators, parents or students can refer. Screening is once a year and may include the CogAT, the Iowa Test of Basic Skills, the Torrance creativity test, student work and portfolios; the campus GT committee decides placement. Summer testing serves students who were not in an Alief school during screening.
