Naglieri-style practice for kindergarten to 5th grade

The Naglieri General Ability Tests are three separate tests (Verbal, Quantitative and Nonverbal) given online with animated, language-free directions. Items use pictures, shapes and diagrams; numbers are the only text.

Key facts

The testsThree short tests: Verbal, Quantitative and Nonverbal. Each has 40 questions, takes about 30 minutes, and is taken online. Short animations show what to do, so no reading is needed.
VerbalSix pictures. Your child picks the one that does not belong with the other five.
QuantitativeA pattern of numbers or shapes. Your child picks which of 5 answers completes it. There are no word problems.
NonverbalA grid of colored shapes with one empty box. Your child picks which of 5 answers fills it.

How to practice without pressure

  • Two or three 15-minute sessions a week beat one long one.
  • Familiarity is the goal: a child who has seen the formats is calmer on the day.
  • Praise the thinking (“you checked every box!”), not the score.
  • Stop while it's still fun.

GiftedCub practice is designed to help children feel familiar and comfortable with question formats. It is not the actual test, and no practice service can guarantee a score or placement.
