Alvin Independent School District: gifted testing
Gifted and Talented (G/T)
Grades K-12All Alvin ISD kindergartners are screened in the fall semester; those who meet the screening criteria are tested in January/February, and services start by March 1. For grades 1-12, referrals are accepted all year from teachers, administrators, parents, counselors, peers or the student, and students are tested in the district's referral and testing cycle. Identification uses criterion- and norm-referenced tests, intellectual assessments and teacher recommendations (at least three measures).
