EXPO (Gifted and Talented)

Grades K-12

All Denton ISD kindergartners are considered with a universal screener run by the EXPO program; a pool of kindergarten students is then assessed further in January. All 2nd graders also take a universal screener in the spring. Students in grades 1-5 can be referred by staff, parents or community members for a fall or spring testing session. Placement needs an ability score of 125 or higher plus other scores at or above the district line (achievement and creativity tests at the 95th percentile or higher, and qualitative measures).
