Federal Way Public Schools: gifted testing
Highly Capable Services
Grades K-12Federal Way reviews all 2nd and 4th graders every year and accepts referrals for grades K-11 from October 26 to November 20, 2026. All referred students (with permission) and all 2nd and 4th graders take the Naglieri Nonverbal Ability Test (NNAT3) between November 23 and December 18, 2026. A team decides in February using NNAT3, i-Ready and Smarter Balanced data; no single score ends the review.
