Humble collects several measures to identify students; ability tests may include the CogAT, SAGES-3, NGAT or MAP. Grades 1-11 referrals open September 1-30, 2026, with decisions posted in Home Access Center on November 30, 2026. Kindergarten and new-to-district students have their own windows. Referred students test during the school day on their home campus.

  • Texas State Plan: every kindergartner is reviewed for gifted/talented identification without a referral, and at least three measures are used. source

Appeals / retesting: Appeal within 15 district business days of the placement decision, using the district form. source
