Academically Talented and Gifted (Honors Math, Project IDEA, Project IDEA Plus)

Grades 3-8

District 203 screens all students each year for academically talented and gifted services. Placement uses formal tests (CogAT, IOWA, MAP and, for Project IDEA Plus, the Figural Torrance Test of Creative Thinking) and teacher rating scales combined on a matrix; no single criterion decides. Grade 3 Honors Math placement runs in the fall; grades 3-7 can qualify for the next year's services in the spring, with testing starting January 2027.
