Gifted and Talented Education (GATE)

Grades K-12

Natomas gives a computer-based GATE test during the school day to all 3rd graders each spring, and 3rd-5th graders can be referred by a principal, teacher or parent for the next testing cycle. The district moved from 1st-grade to 3rd-grade identification in 2025-26; full districtwide 3rd-grade testing resumes in 2027-28, and referrals cover the gap.
