Plano Independent School District: gifted testing
PACE (Plano Academic and Creative Education)
Grades K-12All Plano ISD students take the CogAT in grades 1, 3, 5 and 7 (September-October), and some students take it when testing for PACE. In kindergarten, every student is in a talent pool and does a series of assessment activities; testing and formal identification happen in the fall. A campus placement committee looks for a preponderance of evidence (test scores, academic performance and classroom behaviors).
