Tacoma Public Schools: gifted testing
Highly Capable Program
Grades K-12Tacoma screens all 2nd graders in late fall with the Nonverbal subtest of the Naglieri General Ability Test, and reviews all 5th graders in the spring with no extra testing. Students in any grade can be referred year-round; a cognitive test may be given if more data is needed, and a committee reviews them in the spring. There is no standard score required to qualify. SAIL self-contained classes serve grades 3-5.
